Idiot say what?
Simon Borg is probably not worth another blog post on the WWW, but here I am typing his name. I don’t have much to say about him or his comments on a recent Extratime podcast (MLS’s Podcast) that haven’t already been said, but I did want to share my two theories on why he may have said what he said.
If you’re wondering who Borg is, or what it is I’m referring to. Check out these...

Barcelona And The Bulls →
Barcelona was once held up as different from other giants of European soccer. They developed players rather than buying them from other clubs. There was a Barcelona way that started at youth level and worked through the first team.

Do we have any footy fans in the Dallas [Texas] area? A friend is building a low division [aka: beginner, out of shape, or just for fun!] women’s indoor team to play at Inwood Soccer Center [Tollway & Inwood]. As of now, it looks like the games will be weeknights [possibly Tuesdays or Wednesdays] and the league should start sometime in June.
Feel free to...

Franz Beckenbauer about Prinz: "Most influential...
“Birgit Prinz was certainly the most influential figure of the German women’s football in the last ten to 15 years, it has the women’s soccer in the public consciousness far brought forward and made presentable More than 200 international matches, which is incredible, especially for an offensive player.”

This past weekend I traveled to Montreal to support my @ChicagoFire for their first game of the 2012 season and the first MLS home game of Montreal Impact.
Before we, Section 8 Chicago, were allowed into the stadium, we waited outside the concrete walls of Stade olympique where chants were sung in excitement for the match.
I hope to have a more detailed post about my experience at the game...

The Soccer Mom
runofplay:
Sometime during the run-up to the 1996 Presidential election, a Republican political advisor named Alex Castellanos told a reporter from the Washington Post that incumbent Bill Clinton was going after a newly identified demographic of American voters called “soccer moms.” Middle-class, suburban, and constantly on the go in her loaded Dodge Caravan, the Soccer Mom represented a...

What happened to that really little girl with the...
Or how about that girl on your middle school squad who rolled her shorts one too many times? Ever wonder what happened to the girls who you have played with in the past? This question dawned on me today. Out off all the teams I have played on I really only kept in contact with a small few. But where did the rest of them go?
I ran into a few this year in college. Standing with the starting 11 in...
