What happened to that really little girl with the...
Or how about that girl on your middle school squad who rolled her shorts one too many times? Ever wonder what happened to the girls who you have played with in the past? This question dawned on me today. Out off all the teams I have played on I really only kept in contact with a small few. But where did the rest of them go?
I ran into a few this year in college. Standing with the starting 11 in...

Female executive thrust into Caps' front-office... →
“She’s been our unsung hero,” co-owner Jeff Mallett said of Lewis, a 37-year-old Vancouverite who joined the club in a marketing role in 2003. “When I invested in the club, one of the key reasons was Rachel and her experience as a leader internally. Really, all the components that make up the business operations, Rachel has had her fingers on.” …

Is the end in sight for WPS?
The WPS needs to find an investor for a sixth team in order for the league to stick around for a fourth season but chances are looking slim. In 2009 the league started with 7 teams, since then 5 of those 7 teams have folded. Positively, 3 teams (Philadelphia Independence, Atlanta Beat, and Western NY Flash) have joined the league and are committed to a 2012 season.

The Make-Up Game.
Hello lovers of all things footy, it’s Smash from Yellow Card For Dissent again. As I browsed through my Tumblr dashboard today, I saw several reblogs of USWNT players pop up. While this is the norm and I always enjoy seeing these strong, awesome women, it occurred to me [not for the first time] that several of the ladies were sporting make-up during training and/or games.
My two cents, not that...

FACT: I’m the only footy fan in my office.
[It really pains me to type that.]
Sometimes I feel like I’m straight out of this article from The Onion that was published prior to the 2010 FIFA World Cup. I’m the resident soccer lover around these parts. While co-workers gather at the water cooler to discuss last weekend’s college football match-up, I’m stuck sitting at my desk, hoping that a lone...
