Simon Borg is probably not worth another blog post on the WWW, but here I am typing his name. I don’t have much to say about him or his comments on a recent Extratime podcast (MLS’s Podcast) that haven’t already been said, but I did want to share my two theories on why he may have said what he said.

And here are my two theories on why Borg said what he said:
- Borg is an idiot. There’s no simpler way to put it.
- Borg is being asked to be the agitator of the Extratime podcast group and to stir up controversy and added viewership.

“It’s fine if you’re a female and you want to be a super-fan. Clearly go for it, that’s your choice. But there is something to be said for how appealing that might be to the other sex. Having a woman that’s such a fan, like painting your face, tuning in to every podcast. I don’t know how many males would be into that.”“It’s great that in Kansas City there are a lot of women in the stands, it’s great, but for the guy who wants maybe a serious relationship… If you are following just casually, but if you’re such a die-hard, I don’t know, it comes a point that it is a bit of a turn-off.”
Lots of controversy over this yesterday. Via Twitter, I saw that Women United Football Club [WUFC] will be on Extra Time podcast soon to voice the opposite opinion of female sports fans.
